The abundant rains of September-October 2009 have raised several critical issues in our area buoyancy hydrogeological , due to the large volume of water falling in our town, respect to which our institution found itself unprepared in terms of adequate prevention .
In 2003 the Region of Sicily in Report Excerpt Basin Plan for Hydrogeologic Spatial (PAI) classified the territory of Piana in classes danger from attention and therefore were expected extensive work that has not responded. (link: click here)
INGENTI SONO STATI I DANNI provocati ad abitazioni private, strutture pubbliche e viabilità.
- Il Palazzetto dello Sport, inaugurato e mai aperto è stato allagato da acqua e fango.
- Via Odigitria si è trasformata in un fiume che trasportava detriti di ogni genere provenienti dalla struttura ristrutturata del "Preventorio" (non si capisce come siano stati fatti questi lavori) e dalla strada del percorso naturalistico che porta al Monte Pizzuta che è stata completamente svuotata del suo materiale.
- Tombini saltati, viale Otto Marzo impraticabile , case allagate e le zone a valle del paese con l'acqua che non riusciva a defluire. In particolare il deflusso si è concentrato lungo via Gamillo e via Kumeta che raccolgono buona parte delle acque.
- Si rileva che per le operazioni di pronto intervento questo Ente ha usufruito dell'ausilio di nuclei di protezione civile venuti da fuori poiché questo Comune ne è sprovvisto.
FONDAMENTALE INTERVENIRE SUBITO E BENE :
1) RIPULIRE CANALI, FIUMI E TOMBINI con interventi mirati e di manutenzione programmata annualmente.
2) COMPLETAMENTO DELLA DEVIAZIONE RIVER " Ghione " ACCOMMODATION AND RIVER RANTERIA . The river Ghioni past a stretch in the town, is therefore of fundamental importance diminish its reach by completing the detour to the river Ranteria .
3) ASSISTANCE AT THE RIVER RANTERIA in that part of town.
3) gutters MONTE PIZZA and arrangement of the channel should be the recipient.
4) MONITORING AND MAINTENANCE EXTRAORDINARY of rivers that crisscross the town.
5) TIMELY VERIFICATION Of all areas currently at risk .
6) INTERIM MONITORING OF STREAMS to check for diversion or tampering by individuals.
7) all the procedures necessary to ensure that there is increased attention by the bureau of building permits in regard to protection of watercourses.
